Lead Singer of MSMR & Co-Founder of Neon Gold Records
Lizzy Plapinger is the lead vocalist of alt-pop duo MS MR and co-owner of boutique record label Neon Gold Records.
During her sophomore year at Vassar College, Lizzy established Neon Gold Records with her childhood friend Derek Davies, specializing in limited-run, seven-inch vinyl singles. Operating out of her dorm room, the label helped launch the early careers of bands such as Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding and Marina & the Diamonds.
While at Vassar, Lizzy also met her future MS MR partner Max Hershenow. In 2011, they anonymously released a demo EP, Ghost City USA, which was met with instant online success and prompted them to go public as MS MR. MS MR signed with Columbia Records and released its debut album, Secondhand Rapture, in 2013.
As MS MR grew into an international touring band, Neon Gold continues to thrive, having partnered with Atlantic Records in 2014 for acclaimed releases with Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens, among others.
